THE OSCAR TIE REMINDS ME OF EATING STICKS OF ROCK.
March 18, 2015 (Original post date).
A warm welcome to those of you reading my blog for the first time, Behind Every Tie Is A Great Man Collection is based on how everyday objects, reminds us off past memories and I took this concept, and applied it to the different fabric selection of colours, textures and patterns.
During a family day out in Great Yarmouth, my cousins and I were treated to colourful sticks of rock because we were on our best behaviour. It was a good day…
There were some funny moments during my first ever trip to Great Yarmouth such as setting up the beach chair and falling right through it, because I did not set it up properly. Painfully walking on the pebble beach towards the water, only to realise there was no fishes to be seen because the water was not crystal clear. In addition to this, getting scolded for taking my top off in a failed attempt to go for a swim to find the fishes! I was given £5.00 for the arcade plaza and spent it all at the coin pusher machine in hope of getting a return on my initial ‘investment’. However one moment that stood out from the rest was towards the end of the day, I remember the laughters and conversations between my aunts and mother on our way back to the coach, while my cousins and I eating sweet colourful stick of rocks, which was a great way to end the day.
The circle and diamond pattern in combination of the colours reflect this memory well and will always remain a testament of good family values and company.
At the back of every tie when they are made, I give them a unique number to let you know the amount that was made in this edition,
which is four in this case. SOLD OUT
