BLUE IS THE STRONGEST COLOUR IN EVERY MAN’S WARDROBE! THE ELROY TIE STORY.
April 1, 2015 (Original post date).
"At school Blue had always been my favourite colour. Looking back it’s interesting how the love of a colour created an underlining connection with my peers, because all the boys liked blue at the time".
This brings me back to when the boys did not play with the girls and vice-versa. When girls favoured skipping and the boys played football. Where it was easy to offend your friend by telling any girl that he fancied her! There was one incident in class, where we were all bored out of our brains, while our teacher was teaching us maths and then, he asked a question, which got everyone talking, “what is your favourite colour Ryan!?” With a confused expression he replied “Blue!” Then a girl from the right side of the room exclaimed “Well mine is red!” The rest of the girl cheered with joy and then, the whole class erupted with shouting over one another, trying to beat each others point as to why blue was better than red or put more bluntly, trying to win an argument by seeing who could shout the loudest! Meanwhile our teacher just stood there leading against the chalk board with an bemused smile. And began writing numbers with the blue chalk and shapes with the red chalk. Then magically we all quieten down, looked at the board, waiting patiently for what our next lesson was going to be.
Obviously, there’s no such thing as one colour is better than the other. All colours are beautiful in its own unique way. It is all a matter of preference and reason. However when I saw this material, with the herringbone weave construction, I loved the simplicity of how the tonal blues play along side each other, with the white lifting the stripe to become more noticed. Creating a marvellous easy to wear classical tie.
Only two Elroy ties were hand made due to fabric availability - Yes, only two available worldwide! Therefore no more ties in this material will be made and once the last tie has been brought, it is finished. I have said it before and it will not be the last. The person who owns this tie will have a unique piece of craftsmanship, which caters towards their personal style. SOLD OUT
