We have three weeks before Valentine's Day and to some of us it might be a time of celebration of love and romance. Others may be scratching their heads thinking, "what on earth am I going to buy my husband?" Boyfriend? Girlfriend? Or maybe your wife if she wears ties? - 'wink' (May I just add, some ladies are putting some of us gentlemen to shame! *nods head in dismay).
Some people will say buying a tie is a bad idea, which I absolutely disagree with. Even if your partner doesn't wear ties on a regular basis, there will always be an occasion to wear a tie. Such as a wedding, funeral, meeting the parents for the first time, job interview and of course, for your general every day style (smile).
Here's some quick pointers to help you with making a decision for selecting a tie for your significant partner.
Firstly, when the right opportunity strikes, have a browse through his wardrobe (and hope you do not find anything shocking!) and at first glance, ask yourself, "What do I see?" Lots of different and/or varied colours? Or monotones of blacks, greys and/or blues? This information will help you figure out which colour of ties to go for, which is always a good starting point.
For someone who generally wears Monotones of blacks, greys and/or blues. Try going for something that compliments and adds an extra colour to what they are most likely to wear. For an example, if they wear blues, find ties which have patterns of other colours, as seen below:
Ok, so what if he has lots of different and varied colours in his wardrobe? I guess it would be easy to say "the world is your oyster and you can select any colour under the sun!" I don't think this attitude is very helpful and would approach it from a different angle such as asking ourselves "which colours do you see him wear most of the time"? This will narrow down your selection rapidly. See below for some ideas of what you could go for:
In the meantime if you have any questions, comment below and I'll do my best to help.
Until next time I wish you all a superb Valentine's Day in advance!
