For the benefit of those of you who may be reading this for the first time, I just wanted to quickly recap on the theme of the latest collection Behind Every Tie Is A Great Man, which is based on how everyday objects, triggering off past memories and I took this concept, and applied it to the different fabric colours, textures and patterns I saw as inspirations in this range. Visiting the Tower of London for the first time and seeing the Crown Jewels, in all it’s splendour and sparkles, it was beautiful. Needless to say I was in awe.
Looking at the crest jacquard pattern initially made pictures of the British Royal family, such as the Duke of Windsor, Prince Michael of Kent, Princes Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry flashed into my mind within seconds. Then I remembered visiting the Tower of London, walking through the narrow steps before entering each rooms, taking a particular interest in the knights armoury and weapons.
But seeing the crown jewels will always stay with me. I stood there inspecting this object (not that I am an expert in Jewellery by any means), speechless and in awe, while subconsciously the British National Anthem sings softly in my head! It is true what they say "seeing something in real life and in photos are two different things".
Only five Harold ties were made, which is exclusively available here, so there will be no need to worry about bumping into someone else wearing the exact same tie as you.
Have you been to the Tower of London? What were your memories? Would you do me the honours and share in comments below? Until next time speak to you soon?
