Last week I told you that I intended to write about each tie in the latest collection. I wanted to start off with the Alastair tie because the story behind it links nicely with Valentines Day (coincidentally).
Behind Every Tie Is A Great Man collection in summary, is all about everyday objects triggering off past memories and I took this concept and applied it to the different colours, textures and patterns I saw as inspirations in this range.
As we walked through Lloyds park after feeding the swans, we saw all these colourful flowers. I was daring myself to pick some and give them to her. But I was too shy.
The colour pink indicates the hazy crush I used to have on this girl in College and signified the potential of turning red if I won my heart's desire. The flowers were an important symbol in the fabric because it brought me to that moment during early summer, where we walked passed a bunch of flowers and the moment, where I was having the conversation in my mind of giving her some flowers. As my way I saying "I want you to be my lady" (pretty please?), but was robbed of this opportunity when my shyness kicked in.
I am sure you can see the link of this tie's inspiration with Valentines Day. While in my case nothing developed any further romantically. This tie would truly let your sweet valentine know that they are one of a kind because there is only two Alastair ties available left worldwide. At the back of every tie when they are made, I give them a unique number to let you know the amount that was made in this edition. In this case only four were made in total. Or why not impress your date and treat yourself? After all, you need to love yourself before you can love others...
With only one week to go, order your tie here now to avoid disappointment of late delivery. Have a great day!
